The Big North West Subaru Meet

The artofstance guys headed down to Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA for the Big NW Subie Meet! We could tell we were getting closer to the location as we saw more and more modified Subarus converging on the location.

It was fantastic to see hundreds of cars from the Pacific Northwest and beyond to meet and share in passion for these AWD rally proven monsters on a hot sunny day! There were also vendors and sponsors that had Scoobie parts/services at discounted prices. A short autocross track was also set up to provide some racing. We even decided to enter my car into the car show at the last minute just for kicks to represent Vancouver. We’re looking forward to next years meet!

Here’s some of the cars that were there:

  • The Baby Aston

    The Baby Aston

Richard and I were lucky enough to get the opportunity to photograph the beautiful Aston Martin Vantage. I heard its 420hp 4.7L V8 coming up the street as we prepped for the shoot. As one of the classiest looking sports coupes in the world, it was a pleasure to photograph. We would like to thank the owner for letting us spend some time to appreciate the worksmanship that Aston Martin has gone to make the Vantage.

  • Practical: Monster – BMW E39 M5

0-60 in less than five seconds while still having room for 4 passengers and a set of golf clubs. This E39 BMW M5 has a serious split personality. The owner, Jeremy, explains it best. “With a family coming soon, I needed something more practical but still a little fun.” Boasting a 394 BHP 4.9 Litre V8 monster under its hood, its plenty fun!

  • 2011 Italian Car Show

    2011 Italian Car Show

Every Father’s Day in North Vancouver, the Italian Car Show takes place at Waterfront Park. Its a great way to see a lof of vintage and new exotics in a free event for the family. There are also Italian motorbikes (Ducati, Moto Guzzi’s) as well as French automobiles like Citroens and Peugeots. This year there didn’t seem to be as many cars as previous years with much of the lawn sitting empty. Perhaps it was the overcast weather that played a part in participation. There were still a lot of great cars to be seen.

    Stance Stance Revolution

This isn’t your Uncle’s Infiniti G35 sedan or even your Richmond C-lai bump and park the car G35. No, this rolling silver stanced piece of art belongs to Manny Jakhar. Manny wanted his sedan to stand out from the crowd; to bring something different to Vancouver. The lower mainland has a lot of modified cars but you seldom see ones of the stanced or hellaflush variety.
